Example of iMovie:-
LS 5: Plan, research, rehearse and deliver spoken presentations specific to learning areas by:
- Taking notes, identifying key ideas and information
- Applying the stages and characteristics of spoken text structures
- Selecting multimodal resources to influence audience reaction
Classroom Organisation
- Students will be separated into their poster groups. Each group will find their own working space inside or outside the classroom (where the teacher can clearly see each student).
- Each group will be given an iPad with the iMovie app already installed.
Learning Experiences
- After the completion of the poster, each group is to present the information gathered into a movie.
- It requires them to know enough information about each person so that they can teach fellow students.
- Students are not expected to go into depth with this task, however opportunities for gifted students are available to extend this task.
- Students are to add in text, pictures and voiceovers.
- Students may choose to each present one influential Indigenous Australian or to film them all as a group. Whichever the group decides to select each student must have equal opportunity to input information and be the voiceover.
- Remind students that this task will help their next assessment piece.
Assessment
- Each student will be assessed on their ability to partake in this group task.
- Each individual will be assessed on their not taking ability to either verbally or physical represent their knowledge on particular influential Indigenous Australians.
Adjustments
- Students will be grouped in the same selected groups as the previous task. These groups have been moderated to support all learners. By way of example, the gifted student is seated next to the ESL students. This is done because the gifted student displays perfect English vocabulary which will assist the students who are still learning particular words or phrases.
